The great thing about living in Somerset is there are sooooo many creative folk around here. In fact, I would love someone to conduct some research into how many brilliant creatives per capita there are compared to any other areas in the UK.

Of course, having lived in Bristol I know there is a thriving creative hub there and Brighton has the same. But Somerset is truly rural and we have so much space here. Having moved out of the city I realise that what our business needed was space to grow, and space we now have! Not to mention the fact that we’re next to Glastonbury Festival, which pulls in lots of set designers, prop builders, riggers, lighting specialists, music techs, decor queens and kings.

Now I may sound rather nepotistic recommending people who have become friends but that genuinely is how it works. The companies mentioned below are great people who run fabulous independent businesses, that I have met through working creatively with them and admire their methods, ethos and locality.

So I thought it would be helpful for all those organising events in Somerset, to curate a list of the crème de la crème of the event industry in our beautiful neck of the woods.

When thinking about bar supplies, have you considered a dry bar? Dry no longer means boring. Wise Bartender provides an incredible range of delicious non-alcoholic drinks. And he’s a lovely chap too. Based in Evercreech.
